wayOUT foundation

Since 2019, I have been proud to serve as a volunteer board member of wayOUT.

wayOUT is a national non-profit organization that empowers LGBTQ+ youth to feel safe being who they really are. We do this by investing in LGBTQ+ youth centers around the country with a focus on the intersection of the Queer and and POC communities usually in conservative areas.

I began my work with wayOUT as a chapter member in Los Angeles. As a chapter, we partnered with the organization OUT Memphis in Memphis, Tennessee. With a fundraising goal of $75,000, we worked towards planning the first wayOUT LA GAYLA as the primary fundraising event. I collaborated with my team members to plan and execute the largest scale GAYLA that wayOUT has seen to date including venue, entertainment, corporate sponsors, menu, guest list & more. We ultimately raised $81,000!

In spring of 2020, I was honored to join the national board to lead the marketing efforts of wayOUT. Given the challenges of COVID-19, our current year looks drastically different than years prior. We are, however, rising to the challenge using this year as a prime opportunity to refocus the brand and cultivate lasting partnerships. In my new role, I look forward to continuing to further the wayOUT brand and cause.
